You have questions. We have answers.

Here a few helpful answers to some of the questions you may have about starting your sustainability program

Absolutely!  However, depending on your location and energy usage, certain options may be limited.  You can even “go green” if a separate entity handles your electric bill.

For smaller energy consumers, the answer is usually to purchase Renewable Energy Credits (RECs).  When a renewable facility produces power, it produces 2 things; non-emitting electricity, as well as a tradeable commodity called a REC.  The REC represents the MWh of clean electricity that was sent to the grid.  When you purchase RECs, you are essentially purchasing clean energy and helping subsidize clean energy resources across the United States.

Call us.  Some of our customers approach us with years of experience working with renewable energy and look to us to implement a strategy into their existing carbon reduction plans.  On the other end of the spectrum, we work with customers who are new to the clean energy space and are eager to learn more and become environmental stewards.

RPS is a growing cost to the retailer and ultimately the end-use consumer.  Oftentimes, retailers aren’t giving their RPS curves, REC procurement, and legislative tracking the attention they deserve.  Being able to team up and allow Roots to shoulder some of the time burden and ensure you are capturing maximum profits can prove to be invaluable.  You don’t know, what you don’t know.
